Google Continues to Evolve – Automatic Captions

http://googleresearch.blogspot.com/2014/11/a-picture-is-worth-thousand-coherent.html “…we’ve developed a machine-learning system that can automatically produce captions…” The fact that a “computer” could create the caption “Two pizzas sitting on top of a stove top oven” is mind blowing. I think that the folks a google are being great parents. I look forward to seeing how far and fast their child grow into an artificial being like Cmaander Data on Star Trek the net generation.

What Knowledge Annealing has in common with BoxOfNothing

What John Webster’s ‘Box of  Nothing ‘ was trying to do.

What Jim Norman’s Story boarding does for a group of people in a meeting.
http://www.phxcpc.org
What  Neil Larson’s Max Think does for writing and thinking.

What Google’s Wave did for online collaboration.
http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Wave,

Is best explained in the link below
http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?KnowledgeAnnealing

“…The idea with information annealing is to put a hypertext system on a network (Internet?) and then allow all users to change anything they want…”
“…This causes untold billions of atoms to automatically align themselves into a minimum energy state…”

MaxThink – Some History

Monday Musings: MaxThink, The Only Idea Processor

“…The human brain is the ‘idea generator’. How do you process ideas?…”

http://www.eatonhand.com/maxthink.htm
“…I tracked down the program Maxthink …. It was an incredibly simple concept: write a plain text file which includes information and link the file to related files simply by including the related file names in <> brackets. …it was not simply fast, it was instantaneous.  More impressive than this was the philosophy of this technology woven through the help files and instruction manual – how to set up a large hypertext system to encourage thinking. Even more impressive were the group of utility programs used to automate the construction and maintenance of large scale hypertext systems. The author of these products, Neil Larson, leapfrogged all other programs with the simple implementation of his vision of information, knowledge and wisdom and the programs to accomplish this in an automated manner…”

Google adds a parent

I believe that Amit Singhal has been the primary parent of the life form we call Google.

Now Google has added Ray Kurzweil to its team to help as a co-parent for the Google life form.

http://singularityhub.com/2013/01/10/exclusive-interview-with-ray-kurzweil-on-future-ai-project-at-google/
http://singhal.info/

I the past decade Google has learned to :
Listen: Google 411
Read Words: Google Book Project
Drive: Google Self Driving car
Locate: Google Earth
Classify: Knowledge Graph
Talk: Android OS

Now with Ray and Amit together.
I believe that google will learn to think.

Larry Page IO 2013 Address

“..We should be building great things that don’t exist. Right? Being negative is not how we make progress…”

I hope that I can find uses for this technology that are worthy and help people.
